Digital recording binoculars aren't really new--there are some cheapie versions available--but Sony's new DEV-3 and DEV-5 binoculars lift that humble tech into some really impressive new places. Instead of taking a regular set of binoculars and cramming a cheap video recording device into them, Sony took its high-end HD camcorders and molded them into the shape of binoculars. That means they can both record in 720p (high-def) and in 3-D--these might be the perfect tools for birdwatchers and other nature-types (as opposed to snipers).

World population will reach 7bn this year: study

PARIS: The world population will reach seven billion later this year, with increases in the number of people in Africa off-setting birth rate drops elsewhere, according to a new French study published Thursday.

Samsung has joined the ranks of OCZ, Crucial, Intel and other major SSD players in releasing a SATA 3.0 (6Gb/s) flash drive. Built on the success of its 470 Series SSD, the new 830 Series utilizes the company's in-house firmware and hardware.

AVADirect Clevo X7200 (World’s Fastest Laptop)

The AVADirect Clevo X7200 claims to be the “world’s fastest laptop”, with up to a six-core Intel Core i7-990X Extreme Edition processor, Nvidia GeForce 580M graphics, and ultra fast solid state drive. However, this kind of power does come at a cost, with a large and heavy frame, tiny battery life, and expensive price tag.

AVADirect are an American reseller of custom notebooks, meaning that they purchase frames from other companies and add their own processor, graphics, and other components. The X7200 is based on a Clevo chassis and uses Intel’s X58 chipset.

Motorola Photon 4G smartphone

The Photon 4G smartphone is a new offering from Motorola that is now available on Sprint. This Android 2.3 phone features a 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, a 4.3 inch display, and a number of unique design features.

The Motorola Photon 4G is being applauded by many as the best Android phone on Sprint, although the EVO 3D does offer some healthy competition. Ever wondered how the mobile phone companies test the mobile phones? In Nokia test labs, you will see bunch of machines used to test the mobile phones ~ bend, bake, humidify, spray, poke and drop phones. The picture above is showing the mobile phone getting poked million times.

These very realistic pencil drawings are by artist Paul Lung. The detail and contrast of the drawings are so lifelike that it is difficult to believe that they are not photographs.

Very unlucky Sheeps
